DAILY NOTES JOURNAL | Minimalistic Magic
My passion for exploring different printing methods and techniques led me to reinvent the quintessential notebook.
The Daily Notes hard cover has its own signature look and I was able to achieve this through a tedious yet rewarding process. Book binding cardboards that form the base of hard covers often disappear behind surface materials like paper, leather or canvas. In this case, I felt that a grey or black cardboard would be perfect in itself. The highlight is the bold serif font type embossed in coloured foil paired with silkscreen print, which contrasts beautifully with the cardboard.
Handwriting and notebooks make a wonderful marriage that is infused with nostalgia; and I wanted to bring out that sentiment in the cover for this book. A short para of motivational text was introduced on the cover to achieve the right balance of utility and design. Moreover, the premium embossing gives it an authentic yet lavish look.
